Scholars has been successfully supplying school uniform, sportswear and related products since 1952.
Our friendly, family owned business combines a direct to school, embroidery and distribution facility
with five retail outlets.
After the war the founder of the business, Stanley Kirk rode his bicycle around the villages in the Devizes and Pewsey area
selling general clothes and drapery. In those days very few people had cars so village life could be very isolated.
He progressed to market trading and a small win on the football pools enabled Stanley to open a shop,

The business now has a direct to school, embroidery and distribution facility on the White Horse Business Park in Trowbridge,
and retail outlets in Bath, Trowbridge, Devizes, Warminster and Chippenham.
It remains very much a family business today,
run by Stanley’s grandson Edward.
We believe in a working partnership with schools and, through our flexible approach in servicing schools,
we have become one of the largest suppliers of school uniform in the South West.
